SyncDroid is a handy and efficient application that can backup data located on your Android phone and restore it later on the same or any other Android enabled device. Such an application is recommended for all Android owners, since it can create a recovery scenario for situations where your data has been compromised, lost or deleted. The backup is performed securely, so the original content is in no way put in danger. SyncDroid is compatible with devices powered by Android 2.0 and later and features support for a wide array of mobile producers, which makes it fit for a wide array of audiences. Not to mention that it’s extremely easy to use and should work seamlessly provided that you’ve got the latest device driver installed on your computer and you’ve connected the phone properly. SyncDroid automatically identifies the device model and displays your Android welcome screen inside the main window, so you will know that the phone has been accepted by the application. All your efforts are reduced to selecting the file categories to be backed up and you can choose from the following: SMS, contacts, call logs, browser bookmarks, audio and video files, as well as camera and SD card photos. You can also assign a custom name and a note to each backup, after which you can proceed with the backup process. Depending on the amount of data you have stored on the device, the operation can take a while, but not to worry, you’re kept up to date with the progress. As soon as it’s done, you’ll be provided with a link to the backup folder (as a side note, you can’t choose the backup folder yourself, it’s built-in), which contains the information organized neatly in directories. If you ever want to perform a restore operation, SyncDroid automatically offers a list of existing backups, enabling you to choose the items to be sent to the device and optionally allowing you to set it to overwrite files with the same name. All in all, SyncDroid comes across as a valuable asset, one which should be regarded as a compulsory backup solution by all Android owners.
